How to care for your hair extensions

Human Hair
It responds just like natural hair; the better you treat it, the better it performs and the longer it lasts — retaining quality, volume, and that gorgeous texture:
- Co wash or use a sulfate-free shampoo to cleanse the hair prior to installation.
- Deep condition the hair as often as you wash the hair.
- Wash the hair with sulfate-free products approximately every 2 weeks.
- Avoid heavy oils, creams or butters, which can cause buildup and weigh the hair down; opt for lightweight products instead.
- To avoid tangling, brush the hair daily starting from the ends and working your way up.
- Don’t detangle the hair when it is dry.
- Finger detangling is preferable, however, you can use your tool of choice starting from the ends and working your way up.
- Air dry the hair or gently pat with a microfibre towel/t-shirt.
- Keep heat at a minimum and always use a heat protectant prior to using heat.
- Avoid straightening our "Deep Kinky" and "Kinky Curly" textures.
- Do not cut the wefts.
- Have the hair coloured by a professional.
- For long lasting curls: try twist-outs, braid-outs, or flexi-rods overnight.
- Remove all hairpieces that are not sewn or glued (such as clip-ins before) sleeping.
- Section the hair before sleeping.
- Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase and scarf in order to retain moisture.
- Don’t sleep with wet hair.
Synthetic Hair
Synthetic hair is superb for short-term looks and protective styles but once it loses its curl, sheen, or starts matting beyond repair, it’s time to replace it. Trust us — your next look is worth it! Synthetic hair doesn’t need oils, but it does benefit from hydration and definition:
- Wash the hair with fabric softener/conditioner or sulfate-free shampoo and cool water to cleanse the hair prior to installation.
- Avoid using hot water.
- Because synthetic hair doesn’t absorb oils, you don’t need to wash it as frequently as human hair.
-
Air dry the hair or gently pat with a microfibre towel/t-shirt.
- Create a light spritz by mixing water and a small amount of fabric conditioner/softener and apply before detangling.
- To avoid tangling, brush the hair daily starting from the ends and working your way up.
- Stay below the maximum heat limit.
- Avoid heavy oils, creams or butters, which can cause buildup and weigh the hair down; opt for lightweight products instead.
- Remove all hairpieces that are not sewn or glued (such as clip-ins before) sleeping.
- Section the hair before sleeping.
- Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase and scarf in order to reduce friction.
- Know when to let go!
All Praise be to Jesus Christ!
God bless you.
